Biography
Megan Garlapow is a multidimensional athlete who refuses to be defined by a single lane. A CrossFit competitor, hybrid athlete, and emerging combat sports athlete, she operates at the intersection of strength, endurance, and controlled chaos on land and in the water. Her training spans CrossFit, mixed-modal competitions that combine swimming, breath-hold, and loaded movement, and both gi and no-gi jiu-jitsu, alongside developing striking for a future transition into mixed martial arts. With a background in collegiate distance running and elite road and cyclocross cycling, Garlapow built the engine that underpins her current performance. Since starting CrossFit in 2019, she has deliberately pursued disciplines that expose weaknesses and demand adaptation.
She competes across environments, with a particular edge in events that require performance both above and below the surface, frequently through H2O Fitness. Her ability to move weight efficiently while holding her breath reflects a trained capacity to perform under pressure. Garlapow is driven by discomfort — drawn to competitions that demand adaptability, blending running, swimming, lifting, and problem-solving — and continues to push toward the goal of competing in mixed martial arts.
