Biography
Laurel Chalifoux races a Pure Stock car in the Future Stock Class (ages 12–15) at the NASCAR sanctioned paved oval track in Wetaskiwin — the Edmonton International Raceway, a quarter mile paved oval where different classes race every Saturday through the summer. She grew up at the racetrack watching her dad pit crew for his friend and mentor, and one night told her parents she wanted to drive. They made it happen.
In switching from competitive dance to racing, Laurel found her passion. In her very first race in 2022, she kept up with the field and crossed the finish line in first place. Since then she has collected multiple wins and third place podium finishes every season. Now in her third season, she has already taken two wins and a third — and is already looking ahead to moving into new car classes and continuing to grow as a racer.
